Oι πολίτες στο Isle Of Man σύντομα θα μπορούν να πληρώσουν τους φόρους τους με Bitcoin.

Την τελευταία μέρα του  Crypto Valley Summit που λαμβάνει μέρος στο Isle Of Man ανακοινώθηκε από κυβερνητικό παράγοντα του οικονομικού τμήματος ότι οι πολίτες του αυτοδιοικούμενου βρετανικού κρατιδίου πολύ σύντομα θα μπορούν να πληρώσουν τους φόρους και τις υποχρεώσεις προς την κυβέρνηση με Bitcoin. Συγκεκριμένα ο Chris Corlett γενικός διευθυντής του οικονομικού τμήματος δήλωσε για το θέμα

“Everything from paying your car tax to your income tax bill, we’re seeking to operate a wider range of choices for citizens and businesses for how they can settle their account with the government

“We are considering what services we can deploy to allow these emerging payment types as part of our portfolio. We are seeking payment methods that provide the lowest cost and greatest convenience to citizens and businesses.”

Ο επιχειρηματικός κόσμος που δραστηριοποιείται στο νησί γύρω από το Bitcoin είδε αρκετά θετικά αυτή την είδηση ιδίως για το μήνυμα που δίνει στον υπόλοιπο κόσμο για την αποδοχή του bitcoin στο νησί. Ο Kevin Perks διευθυντής της εταιρείας επιχειρηματικών συμβουλών  I-CAP δήλωσε

“I think it’s extremely bold. In terms of the day-to-day reality, I’m not sure how many people will actually choose to settle their bills in [cryptocurrency]. But it’s about sending a message to the outside world, to say this jurisdiction is open to this type of business. It’s part of a revolution.”
