H KeepKey εξαγοράζει την MultiBit

Η εταιρεία δημιουργίας Hardware Wallet Keepkey ανακοίνωσε την εξαγορά της MultiBit δημιουργό του ομώνυμου desktop Bitcoin wallet που όπως αναφέρουν με δηλώσεις τους στο Coindesk ο κώδικας του θα τους βοηθήσει να είναι έτοιμοι να υιοθετήσουν άμεσα το segwit patch όταν αυτό κυκλοφορήσει για το Bitcoin.

“All the new plans for the bitcoin protocol, like Segregated Witness, will be integrated. We’re going to begin working on that immediately.”

H MultiBit από την μεριά της ανακοίνωσε ότι το Bitcoin wallet για το desktop θα συνεχίσει να αναπτύσσεται κανονικά με την διαφορά ότι από εδώ και πέρα την ευθύνη θα την έχει αποκλειστικά η Keepkey.

KeepKey LLC is buying MultiBit

The MultiBit team is pleased to announce that KeepKey LLC, makers of the popular KeepKey hardware wallet, have put in an offer to buy MultiBit which has been accepted. Within a few weeks we will complete the transfer of control over the MultiBit code and website to them and we will step back from further development.

How does this affect me ?

MultiBit HD users will be largely unaffected once KeepKey take over the MultiBit website and code base. The most visible difference will be that the MultiBit HD installers will no longer be signed by Jim Burton and instead be signed by KeepKey LLC. This will also include new PGP signatures for new releases. This change will occur at the next upgrade.
