H Goldman Sachs επενδύει στο Circle

Ο μεγάλος τραπεζικός και επενδυτικός όμιλος των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών Goldman Sachs έλαβε μέρος στην τελευταία χρηματοδότηση 50 εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων της εταιρείας Bitcoin συναλλαγών Circle και όπως ανακοινώθηκε ήταν ένας από τους βασικούς χρηματοδότες.

Η επενδυτική κίνηση αυτή δείχνει και το ενδιαφέρον του παραδοσιακού τραπεζικού συστήματος στις νέες ψηφιακές τεχνολογίες και ιδίως στην τεχνολογία του Bitcoin κάτι που επιβεβαίωσε και με δηλώσεις του ο Tom Jessop Manager Director της Goldman Sachs

Από την μεριά του το Circle με ανάρτηση στο official blog της εταιρείας καλωσόρισε το ενδιαφέρον των επενδυτών και αποκάλυψε τα μελλοντικά σχέδια της εταιρείας και την μεταμόρφωση της σε μια εταιρεία μεταφοράς χρημάτων που θα χρησιμοποιεί την τεχνολογία του Bitcoin.

 

Today we announced a major step forward in the execution of our vision and product strategy. We’ve closed a new $50 million strategic investment round co-led by Goldman Sachs and IDG Capital Partners.

And for the first time, we’re giving Circle customers the ability to hold, send, and receive US dollars as well as bitcoin — instantly, securely, and with no fees. In addition to sending and receiving dollars, customers can also enjoy the benefits of the Bitcoin network without the risk of price volatility.

 

 

Εκτός από την Goldman Sachs στην χρηματοδότηση έλαβε μέρος και ο κινεζικός επενδυτικός όμιλος IDG Capital Partners καθώς και οι Breyer Capital, General Catalyst Partners, Accel Partners, Oak Investment Partners, Fenway Summer, Digital Currency Group και Pantera Capital.

 

Goldman Sachs and China-based IDG Capital Partners were joined by all of Circle’s existing investors in the round, including Breyer Capital, General Catalyst Partners, Accel Partners, Oak Investment Partners, Fenway Summer, Digital Currency Group, Pantera Capital, and strategic individuals.
