Σε δημόσια διαβούλευση οι κανόνες συναλλαγών με bitcoin στην Νέα Υόρκη.

Για 45 μέρες ακόμα παρατείνετε η δημόσια διαβούλευση στους κανόνες συναλλαγών με bitcoin στην πολιτεία της Νέας Υόρκης έτσι όπως είχαν προταθεί από το τμήμα οικονομικών της πόλης  NYDFS(New York Department of Financial Services).

There has been a significant amount of public interest in and commentary on DFS’ proposed regulatory framework for virtual currency firms. A number of groups and individuals have also requested additional time to study the proposal given that it is the first of its kind and could potentially serve as a model for other jurisdictions. As such, DFS has doubled the length of the initial comment period for its proposed Virtual Currency regulatory framework to 90 days from 45 days. Comments will now be due October 21, 2014. (There would also be an additional comment period beyond that if DFS makes material changes to its initial proposal, which would provide further time for public feedback.)

Η παράταση αυτή δόθηκε λόγο και των έντονων αντιδράσεων που υπήρξαν από τον επιχειρηματικό κόσμο και από την κοινότητα του bitcoin που απαιτούσαν άμεσα αλλαγές στο πλαίσιο κανόνων. Την δήλωση για την παράταση της διαβούλευσης την έκανε ο επόπτης του οικονομικού τμήματος της Νέας Υόρκης Ben Lawsky στο προσωπικό του λογαριασμό στο twitter.

ενώ αργότερα ο ίδιος ανέβασε άλλο ένα διευκρυνιστικό μήνυμα στο twitter για τους λόγους που οδηγήθηκαν σε αυτή την απόφαση

Σε συνέντευξη που παραχώρησε αργότερα στο Coindesk  δήλωσε

“We’re not the kind of agency that thinks we have a monopoly on the truth and that we’re always right. We feel strongly about a lot of the provisions in the proposed regulations, but we get that there might be things we can improve.”
