Olivier Janssens is a libertarian/voluntaryist and a big fan of decentralization. He’s an early adopter of Bitcoin and considers it the most important development since the internet. He’s very active in supporting projects that enhance freedom and have donated significant amounts to, for example, protonmail.ch, liberty.me and have invested over 2 million USD in Bitcoin startups. His goal for the Bitcoin Foundation is to decentralize core development, bring full transparency and change the focus to having Bitcoin adopted by every store and person in the world.
Jim Harper is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, where he focuses on privacy, telecommunications, intellectual property, security, government transparency, and digital currency. A lawyer licensed to practice in California and Washington, D.C., Jim has written several amicus briefs in Fourth Amendment cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is the author of the book, Identity Crisis: How Identification Is Overused and Misunderstood. A former counsel to committees in both the U.S. House and Senate, Jim has represented companies such as PayPal, ICO-Teledesic, DigitalGlobe, and Verisign. In 2014, Jim served as Global Policy Counsel for the Bitcoin Foundation.
“Thank you everyone for engaging in this democratic process. From members to bystanders, we appreciate all the feedback and suggestions for improvement along the way,” said Brian Goss, Elections Committee Chairman.
