Την δήλωση ότι το Bitcoin μπορεί στο μέλλον να γίνει το internet του χρήματος την έκανε ο Andy Yee τεχνικός αναλυτής(policy analyst) της Google. Συγκεκριμένα σε άρθρο που δημοσιοποίησε στο site Internet Policy Review και αναλύει την δομή και την χρήση του Bitcoin μεταξύ άλλων γράφει

Therefore, the real value of Bitcoin lies not so much in its potential to become a substitute for money, but rather in its ability to act as the internet of money 

Bitcoin is much more than a substitute – it is like a logical layer for finance (Dourado, 2014) that will support a revolution in the way people own and pay for things.

Ενώ τόνισε την ανάγκη το πλαίσιο κανονισμών που θα θεσπιστεί από τις κυβερνήσεις για το bitcoin να αναγνωρίζει την καινοτομία που φέρνει το ψηφιακό νόμισμα και να μην την περιορίζει

It is important for policymakers to recognise that Bitcoin, like the internet, is a promising platform upon which financial innovation can happen.
