Πρωτοσέλιδο της Wall Street Journal για το Bitcoin

Την δευτέρα η Wall Street Jouranl κυκλοφόρησε με πρωτοσέλιδο για το Bitcoin και με τίτλο “Bitcoin Battle – Can alternative currencies go mainstream?”

Despite the mystery, the whiff of scandal, and general public unfamiliarity with the concept, somebody out there is buying, and selling, not just bitcoin but dozens of other cryptocurrencies as well. The total market capitalization for these unregulated electronic forms of payment was roughly $4.04 billion as of mid-February, according to coinmarketcap.com, a website that tracks trading in alternative currencies. More than 500 altcoins, as they are also known, were represented on the site recently.

Το άρθρο κάνει μια πρώτη ανάλυση για το μέλλον του Bitcoin και την καθιέρωση του στο παγκόσμιο οικονομικό σύστημα ενώ παίρνει και την γνώμη για το θέμα δύο διακεκριμένων καθηγητών οικονομολόγων του Campbell R. Harvey,  στο Duke University στο Durham και του Eric Tymoigne assistant professor of economics στο Lewis & Clark College στο Portland, Ore με τον πρώτο να βλέπει αρκετά θετικά την τεχνολογία του Bitcoin ενώ με τον Tymoigne να βλέπει αξία μόνο στην τεχνολογία που βρίσκετε πίσω από το Bitcoin.
