Κοινοπραξία επενδυτών κέρδισε τα 48.000 Bitcoin του Silk Road

Σήμερα έγινε γνωστό ότι μια κοινοπραξία που οργανώθηκε από την εταιρεία SecondMarket και την Bitcoin Investment Trust (BIT) κέρδισαν το μεγαλύτερο μέρος των δημοπρατημένων Bitcoin που είχαν κατασχέσει οι αμερικάνικες αρχές από το Silk Road. Η κοινοπραξία κέρδισε 48.000 Bitcoin αξίας 16.9 εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων με την σημερινή ισοτιμία.

Το γεγονός το επιβεβαίωσε και το US Marshal’s Services με email.

“The U.S. Marshals Service is confirming that the recent bitcoin auction resulted in two winning bidders. One bidder won 19 blocks, totaling 48,000 bitcoins, and the other won one block of 2,000 bitcoins. Because SecondMarket has voluntarily come forward, we can confirm that it was the winner of 48,000 bitcoins, and the transfer of those bitcoins was completed Monday.”

Ο Brendan O’Connor managing director του SecondMarket αποκάλυψε ότι στην κοινοπραξία έλαβαν μέρος 104 συμμετοχές ενώ ο ίδιος δήλωσε ενθουσιασμένος για την απόκτηση του μεγαλύτερου μέρους του πακέτου των Bitcoin

“When you put a lot of effort into something like this you want to win, you want to be able to bear some fruit and show some results. For all the folks internally that spent a lot of time and effort on this it was a very good conclusion.”
